Singer Ray LeJune revisits the classic blues-funk of Outkast‘s spoken-word opus “SpottieOttieDopaliscious” and returns with an amply indulgent, slick-talk remix that is a sexy and clever heir apparent to the original. While Big Boi & Dre waxed poetic about the allure of life in “Tha A” as they saw it, LeJune sinks deep into full “I’m a hustla baaaaby” mode – in that she’s got more moves to make, more loot to stack, and hordes of on-lookers to enthrall. In between the brassy-but-still-classy verses, Ray interjects a bit of po’ pimp humor in a silky southern drawl that stays true to Outkast‘s well-loved mix of real talk and humor. Indeed, this is just some all around dope work from the young starlet who gives her fans something to grab ahold to as we
patiently wait for The Black Beauty album to roll in. And after you finish gawking at the loveliness below, be sure to hit the links so you can check out (and purchase) Ray LeJune‘s most recent offering – the noir-ish soul single “Grey“.
